We rate this scanner as a quality product for well under $200. This is more then an a entry point Barcode scanner. It also comes with a small desktop scan allowing you to use it hands free if needed.

  It uses a linear imager instead of a laser.  Linear imagers have no moving parts so they are stronger than lasers.  Linear images scan just as quickly as laser bar code scanners and this scanner has a range of up to 30cm away.

The datalogic barcode scanner is able to read all the retail barcode types including the newly released GS1 Databar.  The Databar bar code is most likely to be released in the near future by certain retailers as it can include new features within the bar code like best before dates and pack quantities.

The QD2130 comes with a 'field replaceable' window. In the event you damage the plastic glass screen you can swap it out for another one yourself.
