How to Order Barcodes

How to order Barcodes in 5 easy steps

1. Check with your retailer if they are a GS1 alliance partner. GS1 alliance partners are generally on major corporations like supermarkets, bunnings, supercheap auto.

2. Once you have confirmed the retailer is not a GS1 partner (most stores are not) then you are ready to order a Buy A Barcode. These barcodes are ready to use and you can either organize to print your own barcode labels or get your printer to print them for you.

3. Choose the right size barcode for your product. One size barcode image does not fit all and reducing or enlarging barcode image will cause scanning problems. Order a barcode at the right size to fit your artwork design.

4. Choose a format that is compatible with your design software. Popular formats are EPS, JPG, PDF

5. Print the barcode on a stock that will allow the image to be scanned easily. plain paper or labels are the best materials followed by flat cardboard. Bottles, Corrigated cardboard, Aluminium being the most difficult.

You are now ready to send your products off to the retailer for customers to start buying them.
